WEEKLY EVENTS

Fourth Week of Lent

Whoever is in Christ is a new creation:
the old things have passed away;
behold, new things have come.
---------
2 Corinthians 5:17

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Lenten Mission in Spanish will be repeated at Santa Rosa Parish, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings of the coming week at 7:00 PM, preached by Salvadoran Father Roberto Calderon.  If you were not able to make the parish mission last week, take advantage of this special Lenten opportunity to grow in grace.

Our evening of Lenten devotion is Friday.  A simple supper of Soup and Bread is served from 6:00PM to 7:15PM, followed by Stations of the Cross in the church.  Join us.

Please mark your calendars for one of the evenings of the Tri-parish Reconciliation Services the week after next–Monday, March 22 at St. Ferdinand’s, Tuesday, March 23 at Santa Rosa and Thursday,
March 25 at Mary Immaculate in Pacoima.  There will be an opportunity for confession and sacramental absolution on each of those evenings.  Please recall that confessions are heard, here at St. Ferdinand every Saturday from 4:00 to 4:50 PM and following the 5:00 PM Mass and any time by appointment.

A Prayer and Life Workshop in English begins this Friday evening,
7-9 PM, at Mary Immaculate in Pacoima – continuing until the middle of July.  This is a practical workshop on how to pray fervently and effectively in a busy life.  Give yourself a gift that will keep on giving as long as you live!

Registration is now open for the parish school, pre-school through 8th grade.  The pre-school is open to 3 and 4 year olds.  Scholarships are available to families of limited means and to St. Ferdinand parish ministers.  Some of our classes are filling fast, so inquire at the school as soon as possible.

Remember that we have a 50+Club here at St. Ferdinand’s.  The club meets monthly for a pot-luck lunch meeting and sponsors trips and outings throughout the year.  Call Corinne at the phone number in the bulletin.

Thanks for your generosity in the second collection for Catholic Relief Services.  If you7 came unprepared to donate as generously as you would like, please take an envelope home and bring it next week – or another envelope marked, Catholic Relief.  Recall that Catholic Relief is on the ground in Concepcion, Chile and in Port au Prince, Haiti.
